We Love You LA!

My good friend LadyLa is headed to the Philippines this week, so she had a potluck at the crib before her departure. I respect her purpose of the trip which gave me a whole new respect for her. After a long day I had it was good to hang out with some really great people and not to mention any time La is in the kitchen I know my life is about to get better! It was a great evening and not to mention the Cavs game last night was amazing as well. Hope you have a safe trip and when you get back you know what time it is... POSSE UP!

Ben Baller - On TSG

One person I really do respect on many different levels in life would be Ben Baller. This is a really good interview. Keep putting on for the city!

Recent Pick Up.

After sleeping on these for so long I finally got around to getting these DS in my size which took a little bit of work. These are my second favorite chukkas next to the huf joints. Welp time to lace them up for Thomas birthday event tonight!

Dear Grandma...

Happy birthday to you and even though you are no longer here with me on earth, you are here with me in spirit and that's something no one could ever take from me. I want to say thank you for raising me to be the man that I am today. The best thing god ever gave to me was you. I remember we didn't really have money and you used to make my costumes for Halloween. Still no one to this day ever believed in me more then you ever did. It's been a long 2 years because even though its been that long the pain still hurts just as bad. Your death took my whole fear of death away, because I always thought you'd out live me to be honest. I never seen a person so strong. I remember you taught me how to shoot my first basket on the side of the house. I remember you would wake up extra early to make it to my soccer games. It felt good to wake up and have a reason to make it through the daily shit the world throw at me. It sucks cause I now do it alone with an empty purpose. I always said I was going to get you that house on the hill but it looks like god has already taken you there. I know you would tell me not to cry right now but my best friend, my side kick, my homie, my grandma is gone and I wont get to see you until I take my last steps here, so I look at death as the chance to see you again...

-Your Son,
Justin.

Couldn't Sleep.

My mind at night likes to voyage to a far off places
Close your eyes and you too can touch gods graces
Life on the daily moves on at 10,000 paces
And even one step behind will have you at the end of the races
You compete, I compete, We compete
From an educational stand point to the sneakers on our feet
Our generation is so ready for the next
Rarely do we talk, Usually do the text
Rarely do the loving, Usually do the sex
One week you're the best thing, Next week you're the ex
But own yours we can't all be the victim
Just be wise when you pick him
You don't want to be in the store with an upside down smile
Stomach clutching as you're looking down the pregnancy test aisle
The recession got you stressing about how you're going to raise a child
Life is crazy, but life as a single parent is wild
My word is the orchestra, welcome to the symphony
Don't let a mistakes turn into an epiphany
Make your own path, follow your own destiny
You can't be what another man was blessed to be
God gave each one of us our own special recipe
I can tell it all to you but it's best you see...

Happy Birthday Drew!

Friday was my brother Drews birthday and you know we had to do it big! It was a crazy night that started off late! Dinner was supposed to start at 8 but we showed up an hour late (I know). The whole way over to dinner drew thought no one was gonna show up but there was about 30 people there so the turn out was good! The dinner had a lot of love in the room and the vibe was really dope! It was one of those times where you're thankful for everything/everyone in your life. After dinner the 21+ crowd finished up at west gate and the night was a complete success! Drew was really touched by everyone showing up and it made me feel good to see my brother have the best birthday he could possibly have!

(P.S He thought he was a king for the night and ran my tab up to $100 off wine!! ha love this guy! Happy birthday again big bro!)

Globe Trotter!

So this weekend I was literally every where in Arizona except for Tucson. This weekend was one of the greatest and definitely one for the books. I lived it up from Thursday to Sunday. I never had that much beer, fun, great conversations in one weekend. It was Drews birthday weekend and we lived it to the fullest! Thanks to all who came out to support my brother for his birthday it was a blast!

Star Trek The Movie!

First off let me start off by saying I'm a HUGE fan of the series since I was a kid. I was kind of scared because I love the series so much and I would have been pissed if they ruined the movie! I watch the series on TV every Sunday that's how serious my love for it is. I was happy to say the movie was REALLY good. The characters were all on point and the special effects in the movie were amazing. Captain Spock has always been my favorite since I was a kid and I love the role he had in this movie. The movie was long but I didn't notice til I was at my car like "damn is it already 12?". This movie gets two thumbs WAYYY up from me. I will have this on DVD when it drops.

Late Night With The Fiends!

First thing I will say is if you missed this event last night you should kick yourself in the ass! The Fresh Fiends had a very dope event last night at Grove Candy! Not only was the money given to a charity but you had the entire FF team on deck! DJ M2 was spinning and you KNOW he's the illest out in the desert. The night was amazing to say the least. I had a lot of fun and glad I was invited! Shout outs to all the people that bought me drinks but I paid for it today at work!

Tonight!

This is gonna be deep tonight so show up early!

Honorable Mention -- Lamar Langston

Since I've had my Nikon D40 I've had a whole new respect for photographers, something about being able to capture the moment but every time you see the picture it looks so a live just amazes me every time. There is a huge difference between a good photo and a great photo, that is what sets Lamar Langston apart. Lamar is a photographer who currently lives in SF and over the past couple of months I've been keeping up with his work. Being able to shoot film as well makes him one of my favorites because now a days it seems the craze is to buy a camera (they know nothing about) and just assume pictures will come out crispy due to the make of the camera. It's not the camera that makes great photos it's the person behind the lens and I respect anyone doing it correctly and some more then others.

The Re-Birth.

+Almost all my life I've done journal entries but I haven't done that in awhile and I believe it's a good way to keep up with your own personal thoughts and it's fun to look back on it and see the growth in a larger scale. The ability to review your thought process at a period of time and compare it to what is going on now is a great personal tool. Starting today I will be back at it again.

Super Serious!

Yeezy Drop At High Point!

Today was the release of the second installment of the Nike Air Yeezys and High Point of course was carrying them. I showed up to the store to help out around 9:45 and I would say a good 30+ people were outside for the shoe. High Point did the raffle so no one had to camp out this time around which was more fair if you ask me. Very good turn out even though some people left empty handed it was still a good experience. We at high point hope to see you all again next month!

Here goes my pair, now that's love.

I've been keeping busy this week but I got some time this morning to post. I finally got a my Ato Matsumoto's (Big ups to pondon). Shipping fees from Japan SUCK but it was well worth it. I've been a huge fan of these for a couple years. Its nice to see shoes off my list finally being marked off.
